The newest release of Microsoft PowerToys also brings control to rounded corners in Windows 11 in the FancyZones PowerToy as well as a bunch of bug fixes for other toys and spelling corrections.

This patch release fixes a few major issues that cause a 100% CPU spike with the PowerToys Run toy, and also fixes some issues with the Always on Top losing its status, defeating its purpose, & more.

It has been almost a month since Microsoft released a major version of PowerToys, and this time around the release includes no new features, instead there are stability fixes and improvements.

Microsoft has released a patch for last weeks PowerToys 0.56.1 which fixes a FancyZones Template layout reset bug. A few other bugs relating to Find my mouse and Run were also fixed.

.NET Framework dependency has now been removed, paving the way for a fully ARM64 native experience. Also added to this release, Child and Popup window support for FancyZones, and more.

Just over a week ago, Microsoft released the 0.55.1 patch to fix issues that came up with 0.55.0, but now Microsoft has had to release 0.55.2 to address an installer bug with .NET 5 runtime installer.

PowerToys 0.55.0 was released just two days ago, however a few bugs were discovered, one of which made it not possible to run PowerToys as an Administrator, as well as Mouse crosshair bugs.

Three new PowerToys utilities have been introduced in today's release. Crosshair over pointer, Developer files for preview pane, and STL file format thumbnail and preview pane generation.

PowerToys 0.53.1 was released just under a week ago, however a few bugs were discovered, one of which caused the program to crash when running PowerToys Run, thanks to a duplicate naming.

In its first release of the year Microsoft has added tools and continued efforts to improve on the installer. This release includes over 100 fixes and there's a new Always on Top keyboard shortcut.
