Two Northern Manitobans died from coronavirus infections since Oct. 25 and the region accounts for nearly a 1/3 of new cases in the province since Monday.

The Manitoba government declared a coronavirus outbreak at a Thompson church Oct. 25. The 59th death of a Northern Manitoba resident was reported Oct. 21.

45 new coronavirus infection were announced in Northern Manitoba Oct. 14, as well as one death, the 57th for the region since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Manitoba reported 79 new coronavirus infections Oct. 13, 24 of them in the Northern Regional Health Authority, which now has more than 300 active cases.

The NRHA had 7 new COVID-19 cases Oct. 12. The 56th coronavirus-related death of a northern resident – a man in his 50s – was also reported Oct. 10.
