While Xbox has spent a great deal of time pushing its cloud gaming services (thanks in no small part to Microsoft’s ownership of the Azure cloud computing service), Sony has focused much more on local gaming solutions. This seems to be shifting somewhat with a number of new job listings – alongside recent rumours – suggesting that Sony is going all-in on cloud gaming.

Sony is working on a PlayStation handheld console, according to a new report by Insider Gaming. If the report is true, the company might be getting back into the portable gaming scene after more than a decade. To recall, the PS Vita debuted back in 2012.

Earlier this week, rumours claimed that Sony was creating new PlayStation hardware, separate from the upcoming PS5 revision and rumoured PS5 Pro. It was quickly theorised that this could be a new handheld, like a PS Vita 2. Now, sources have clarified that Sony is working on a dedicated Remote Play device, rather than a native-gaming handheld.
