Conroe ISD trustees are considering drafting a controversial gender policy similar to Katy ISD's, which is under a federal civil rights investigation.

At Tuesday night's board meeting, Conroe ISD board members voted to approve new revisions to their current book review process. These changes give more authority to a single board member and define what the district considers is sexually explicit.

Trustees Tuesday passed a revised version to a controversial library book policy, making the process lengthier. They also green flagged the removal of a graphic novel from intermediate school book shelves.
