Hi my name is Stewart been a member for a while, but only just got round to making a simple model steam engine from Stan Bray book. Just starting out complete newbie,but now retired from driving trains i thought I would give this a go. Hopefully some time soon would like to make a small locomotive thought about starting with Tich or sweet pea I have the book for sweet pea but can’t get the book for Tich at a good price, any advice on what one to try would be appreciated. thank you.

Here are the front and back of a small wheel casting. The back of the casting will need to be recessed to open up the spokes. Stan Bray in one of his books suggests that this used to be done like this in the past.
