Two votes separate Aberdeen mayor’s race with about 80% of ballots counted

The general election is a little more than two weeks away, which means it’s time to see with the candidates for Aberdeen City Council’s Ward 4 Position 7 why they think they’re the best choice.

The city of Aberdeen agreed to a fee resolution aimed toward helping improve how the downtown vacant buildings look and it’s part of the recently approved Vacant Building Program the city approved earlier this summer.

The Aberdeen City Council passed a code Wednesday night that will require downtown Aberdeen business owners to maintain their vacant buildings. If they do not, the building owners will start receiving fees.

The Aberdeen City Council has its sights on cleaning up the city, meanwhile an outside agency has its sights on the city.
