Twenty-seven specimens were tested to investigate the uniaxial compression behaviour of an innovative standing support for underground space applications. The innovative standing support consisted of an external fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) jacket and the infill column made of cementitious grout, tailings and coal wash rejects. Effects of the FRP layers number and water to the cementitious grout (w/g) ratio were evaluated. Test results indicated that lower w/g ratios produced stronger infill c...

This paper introduces a novel standing support incorporating fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP), termed FRP tubular standing support (FTSS). The exterior container of FTSS is the small rupture strain (SRS) GFRP tube wrapped with ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) FRP jacket with large rupture strain (LRS), while the infill is the coal rejects based backfill material (CBM). The CBM is made of industrial by-product (i.e. coal rejects) and high flowable cementitious grout material, leadi...

Abstract This paper presents the development of an innovative standing support for underground mines. The main feature of this standing support is its exterior container, a combination of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with large rupture strain and fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) with high strength-to-weight ratio. To demonstrate the advantages of this cementitious grout filled PVC-FRP tubular (PFT) standing support, a series of compression tests were conducted. Test variables included the strength of...

Polling, joe biden does not only sustain a sizeable lead, but if you look at the african-american community and look at that poll that came out yesterday, overall he has 39% support. kamala harris is next at 12%. but with black voters hes currently at 51%. if you do a breakdown and look at older black voters, theres a lot of standing support for the former vice president. one gentleman i talked to is a long-time member of the national urban league out of houston. and eric goody was telling me, h...

It was a jam-packed room, standing support for mr. trump. very good dialogue that we had back and forth and donald trump made it very clear that hes willing to do whatever it takes to win the black vote, to challenge at the unemployment rate that plagues our communities and really brings jobs to the inner cities. >> i know there were pastors in the room who did not want to be part of a post-game, if you will, news conference, because they werent going to endorse donald trump. but youre saying, y...
