Three weeks left to reach a deal on the fiscal cliff. Lawmakers from both sides hit the sunday shows to late out the latest battle lines in the fight. On meet the press, the number three House Republican reiterated that any new revenues should come from closing loopholes, not raising tax rates. The president wants the rates to go up, that doesnt solve the problem. If the president is asking for higher rates, hes asking for more revenue. Most economists agree the best way to get that is through closing special loopholes. On the same program, Number Two Senate democrat, dick durbin declared that if the country does go over the fiscal cliff, theres only one party to blame republicans. I can tell you i dont want to do it, the president doesnt want to do it but we need to solve the problem, we cannot allow the reckless position to drive this economy into another recession.
