International consumers failed to remit about $51.26m to Nigeria for electricity exported from Nigeria to the power users in 2023, the Federal Government revealed in the latest industry data showing the non-remittances by the consumers.

The federal government of Nigeria is not happy that international electricity customers, including Niger and Togo, have a huge outstanding electricity debt.

Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission says international electricity consumers owe $51.26 million for electricity exported in 2023.
