Families and hikers turned out Saturday evening for the Friends of Ludington State Park, Great Start Collaborative lantern lit snowshoe hike and book walk.

The Jan. 20 Lantern-Lit snowshoe hike – with or without snowshoes – this Saturday from 6-8 p.m. also includes a book walk featuring “Mr. Rabbit’s Wish” by Colleen Monroe.

Held at Lakenenland, there was a seed planting station, a group story, and fishing with homemade fishing poles. There was also facepainting, where the children chose their favorite animal or aspect of nature to paint on their face. The goal of this event is to connect parents and children with nature.
