A Monmouth County grand jury returned a five-count indictment against Quanique Smith, 26, according to the prosecutor.

The 2-year-old ingested heroin and fentanyl belonging to his mother, authorities allege.

An investigation is in the infancy stages after a shooting in broad daylight on Thursday afternoon between Ridge and Springwood Avenues in Asbury Park.

At the scene, officers found the victim, an adult man, with a gunshot wound.
