Steve Kovacevic News Today

In this week's issue of our environment newsletter, we look at the data gap in Canada's pursuit of net-zero emissions and how EVs are being used to clean up the air in arenas.

Swapping gas-powered vehicles for electric is key to fighting climate change. But Health Canada is also touting the ability of one particular EV to curb indoor air pollution in places where children and adults play and exercise: electric ice resurfacers.

Steve Kovacevic took an unpaid day off work on Friday to care for his children and says hes not sure what hell do if the labour dispute isnt resolved next week.

The number of electric ice resurfacers in Waterloo region is expected to grow over the coming year as municipalities look to replace aging machines using fossil fuels. Resurfice in Elmira, Ont., makes Olympia resurfacers, and says interest in this green alternative is growing. But it does require an initial more expensive investment.
