On Tuesday, Governor Mike Dunleavy today appointed Jason Brune to the public seat on the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) Board of Trustees.

Jason Brune will replace Steve Rieger on the board that controls the $78 billion fund, the governor’s office announced Tuesday evening.

The board of trustees governing Alaska’s $76 billion Permanent Fund voted to sunset an in-state investment program created in 2018, citing potential conflicts with the board’s overall goal of maximizing returns.

It's one of the latest moves by the corporation's in-state investment program, which is drawing concerns from corporation trustees.
