LANA MUTHLER lmuthler@lockhaven.com LOCK HAVEN It’s a relatively light primary election ballot in Clinton County with only two county row offices on the ballot and four seats on the Keystone Central School Board open. But there are a few contested races with some names from the past showing their faces in municipalities that may bring out a heavier than expected voter turnout, especially in those regions. The primary election is Tuesday, May 18, and basically is just for registered Republicans and registered Democrats who may vote only on their party’s ballot to move candidates into the November 2 General Election, when the Republicans and Democrats can vote for candidates of any party.

LAURA JAMESON ljameson@lockhaven.com LOCK HAVEN Lock Haven City Council approved a request to close the Grove Street entrance of the East Church Street parking lot for outdoor dining this summer. Don Powers, owner of The Old Corner, made the request during Monday night’s city council meeting. The Old Corner is located at the corner of Grove and Church streets and due to its small size and limited indoor capacity caused by COVID-19 restrictions, cannot serve many customers indoors, Powers said. “I can really only get one table inside for health and safety reasons,” Powers said. Once restrictions ease up he said he may be able to fit up to seven people in the space, however that won’t be enough to sustain the business.
