Fire officials said the unexploded fireworks that washed up on Martha's Vineyard were highly explosive and had the potential to cause injury.

Anthony Marson waived his right to an administrative hearing and accepted a 10-year suspension of his fireworks certificate of competency — the license a fireworks shooter must have to work legally in Massachusetts, officials said.

Central Maine Pyrotechnics has been temporarily suspended from operating in Massachusetts, pending a July 26 hearing, state fire officials said.

The fair is seeing great attendance, with an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 attending on Friday.
