Madisonians made it clear at a community meeting Monday night that they want affordable apartments on the Brayton Lot. But they disagreed about the best way to get those units.

Stone House Development and New Development Madison have proposed a 175-unit apartment building on a four-acre piece of farmland along Old Sauk Road.

The barn is part of a four acre property proposed for redevelopment along Old Sauk Road.

Development partners are proposing 13 new parcels on the property zoned for residential development of up to 1,100 housing units, some lower cost, plus open space.

An affiliate of Madison-based Stone House Development Inc. has sold a 55-unit Harbor View apartment building for $6.85 million.
