Crews are working to control a grassfire that broke out in Wise County Wednesday morning.

The so-called Storage Fire was once at 95% containment, but it rekindled on the east side and moved across containment lines.

GRAFORD — The Storage Fire south of Possum Kingdom Lake is out, but residents are asked to remember this is the threshold of wildfire season.

The wildfire had been 100% contained as of Tuesday and rekindled on the right flank Friday.

Friday evening the Storage Fire, which was previously contained at 100 percent, was spotted outside its containment lines and began burning again.

Firefighters have completely contained a wildfire that’s been burning for days near Possum Kingdom Lake, west of Fort Worth.

State and local fire crews contained the Storage Fire which started Wednesday, June 28 approximately four miles south of Possum Kingdom Lake. Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS), in unified command with Palo Pinto County and other area fire departments, worked on containment efforts. A final update on the fire was provided Wednesday, July 5 with 100% containment. The fire is still under investigation, but is reportedly human caused.

Rain over the weekend helped firefighters get closer to extinguishing a wildfire in Palo Pinto County, west of Fort Worth.
