The weekend storm has prompted the Met Office to issue a string of yellow weather warnings for huge swathes of the country today

Storm Betty will hit the UK tonight, and terrifying weather maps suggest it won't be a pleasant evening for the majority of the UK - particularly in the North and South West.

An amber weather warning for winds breaking 60mph has been issued by the Met Office in areas of southwest Wales and southwest England between 11am and 7pm.
