The EV9 is the first saleable electric vehicle assembled in Georgia, according to Kia.

The 2025 Kia EV9 is the first electric vehicle assembled in the state of Georgia and joins the award-winning Telluride, Sorento, and Sportage SUVs currently assembled at Kias West Point

Kia has pledged a $1 million donation to the University of Georgia College of Engineering and the Georgia Network for Electric Mobility, according to a UGA press release.

“The University of Georgia is thrilled to partner with Kia on our electric mobility initiative."

The donation will support scholarships, fellowships and other opportunities related to e-mobility.
