Sujin Lim News Today

During the Santa Clarita City Council’s regular meeting Tuesday night, council members determined the outcome of several potential improvements to the community, including a new bike path and Central Park art project.

Sculptures, ceramics, paintings, prints, textiles and other work by noted artists have been added to the centers permanent collection.

The 100-page plan lays out the city's strategy for expanding its public art collection over the next seven years.

A new sculpture is being recommended for the area at US 41 and Fruitville Road.

A year after a rejection of Dwell, the city's Public Art Committee picks another sculpture concept, Sun Always Shines, by Sujin Lim. The selection must be approved by the City Commission.

The Public Art Committee will decide on which sculpture design to recommend for City Commission approval on May 3.

A meeting via Zoom will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when three artists will present their proposals and receive feedback.

The three finalists for the latest roundabout sculpture will meet with the Public Art Committee, and the public, on April 18.

The Public Art Committee narrows down to three concepts to recommend to City Commission. But will birds or clouds fly?

The Sarasota Public Art Committee has chosen its three preferred artists for a sculpture inside the roundabout at U.S. 41 and Fruitville Road. Installation of an approved piece is still two years away.
