The Summit County Judicial Nominating Commission has selected three nominees for a justice court judge position that will serve Summit County. The final candidate will replace Judge Shauna Kerr, who will retire next month. 

Around 20 people spoke during the meeting, nearly all of whom were in favor of the purchase. However, opinions primarily differed when it came to how the public should be allowed to use the land.

The 8,576-acre property is north of Jeremy Ranch and is one of the last contiguous mountain ranches privately held by a single landowner in western Summit County, according to officials.
