Telecom infrastructure providers are seeking availability of input tax credit, an increase in tax depreciation rate, and rationalisation of TDS provisions in their Budget wishlist. Measures to facilitate ease of doing business will increase investment and contribute to the industrys long-term growth. Telecom Infrastructure Providers: The Delhi-based group has also written to the Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, seeking support for the telecom infrastructure industry in the upcoming budget.

 With this deal worth $2.5 billion, Brookfield-sponsored Data Infrastructure Trust’s tower portfolio will reach around 252,000. ATC is Brookfield’s third acquisition in India’s telecom infrastructure space.

American Tower and Brookfield seal a win-win deal.

The acquisition after months of negotiations marks the Boston-based independent tower companys exit from India. ATC had informed the US Securities and Exchange Commission in February 2023 that it was exploring strategic alternatives, including the sale of an equity stake in its India operations, amid a challenging business environment.

ATC India has a portfolio of approximately 78,000 sites across India
