Jailed gangster Tillu Tajpuriya was killed early on Tuesday inside Tihar Jail by members of the Gogi gang who allegedly cut the iron grille of his high-security ward and attacked him with an improvised sharp object, officials said.

Tillu Tajpuriya was the alleged mastermind of the Rohini shootout murder in December 2021, which he allegedly planned from inside the jail.

Since 2013, the two men and their gangs allegedly targeted each other over the next decade in their bid to assert area dominance. Their rivalry spawned several gang wars that allegedly claimed more than 22 lives — including theirs — said police.
