KATHMANDU, April 27: The construction of the tunnel of the Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project, which is a project of national pride, has been almost completed with only a few meters left for a breakthrough. The breakthrough ceremony, when the tunnel will be officially opened, is scheduled for May 8.

KATHMANDU, March 25: Armed Police Force (APF) divers have been mobilized to search for the children who went missing in the Sunkoshi River while swimming and bathing after playing Holi.

Efforts are being made to establish the identity of the deceased, said police.

While the locals do not grasp the jargon of climate change, they feel its impacts daily.

SINDHULI, June 6: The vehicle carrying CTEVT employees that had plunged into the Sunkoshi River has been located and recovered at a depth of approximately 30 feet on Tuesday.

Three people had gone missing after the jeep heading to Khotang from Bhaktapur fell into the river on Friday. Authorities are yet to recover the body of one missing person.

The jeep is believed to be submerged some 15 metres downstream from the incident site.

SINDHULI, June 2: Three people have gone missing after a vehicle fell into the Sunkoshi River at Golanjor area in Sindhuli. The area lies along the Ghurmi-Khurkot road section under the Mid Hill Highway.

Two directors and a technical officer of the CTEVT office are among the missing in the accident that took place on Friday.
