Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day in Western superstition but you can get lucky tonight with our picks for frighteningly good fun.

Dead & Company kicked off their Final Tour Saturday with a headlining single set at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Lightning and torrential rains delayed the festivities, with gates opening over an hour past the 11:00 am schedule, causing some of the earlier slated bands to be scrapped. The rain held off for most of Dead & Co’s electric-only set. The sun even managed to make a late-set appearance.

Members of the gang, which draws heavily upon African traditions, mask as skeletons, play percussion instruments, chant and sing during Carnival to remind people to be your best and enjoy life.

The Creole Tomato Festival will offer food, music, kids activities, a second line parade and bloody Mary trail.
