NTSA has intensified its efforts to restore sanity in Kenyan roads. They nabbed and detained excess passengers in the Super Metro bus along Thika Road in Kiambu.

NAIROBI, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- "I can't believe it takes me 30 minutes from Kitengela to the office in Upper Hill during peak time and I only board one commuter bus," said Bella Mutinda, a resident of Kitengela, a suburb about 32 km south of the city center of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.

"Fortunately, I sat at the driver's side and escaped with minor injuries," the passenger stated.

A child around 3 to 4 years-old among those killed in accident

Several feared dead after a bus belonging to the Super Metro rammed into a lorry in Awasi, along the Nairob-Kisumu highway. The bus plies the Kampala-Nairobi route.

Nyanza Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer Allan Mwangi has confirmed the incident, saying other 53 passengers were admitted to Ahero Sub-county Hospital.

The conductor could be heard courteously addressing the passengers in fluent English and wishing them a Merry Christmas before the matatu left the bus stop.
