Superintendent Daniel Warwick News Today

One day following the resignation of Springfield Public Schools Superintendent Daniel Warwick, the Springfield School Committee appointed Michelle Balch, the Chief Instructional Officer, as the Interim Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools.

Daniel Warwick has served 12 years as Springfield superintendent.

Leaders at Springfield public schools are looking for public input Tuesday night in the latest in a series of public meetings to discuss the hiring process for a new superintendent.

Over more than three hours Wednesday night, candidates Sonia Dinall, Rene Sanchez and Kimberley Wells fielded questions from the public, including teachers and students.

Mayor Domenic Sarno and Superintendent Daniel Warwick will be joined by Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) and representatives from Springfield Public Schools to announce the allocation of grants exceeding $1 million to 15 local summer programs.
