Torontonians who take the bus could soon get some relief from slow bus trips, if council votes to move ahead, in principle, with adding more bus-only lanes on some routes. Toboggans and automatic traffic cameras could also see new rules.

Mayor Olivia Chow was hoping to put the "rapid" in RapidTO at city council on Tuesday with a new motion aimed at getting more busways built across the city and speeding up the process.

Four busy stretches of road will be added to a plan that could help some of Toronto’s busiest bus routes move more smoothly.
