Swampscott Fire News Today

Susan Taraskiewicz, 27, was found stabbed and badly beaten in the trunk of her car on Sept. 14, 1992. Police are still working on her case.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after Swampscott police responded to a 911 call reporting a problem with a rock crusher suspended over a quarry in the Aggregate Industries facility at 30 Danvers Road, officials said.

The collapse left a corner of the restaurant dangling over Kings Beach.

Police were alerted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday to “Mission on the Bay” at 141 Humphrey St. and found large pieces of the seawall had fallen into the water behind the restaurant, the Swampscott Police Department said in a statement.
