The Kings Mountain Post 24 of the American Legion will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on April 12 to “Raise the Flag” atop Tannery Knobs in Johnson City.
The Kings Mountain Post 24 of the American Legion told Johnson City commissioners that they were raising money to place a 100- foot flagpole near the benches at Tannery Knobs. The flagpole would host a 20-foot by 30-foot flag day and night, and a 30-foot by 50-foot flag on special holidays and occasions, such as the Fourth of July and Memorial Day.
