Notified me that this would be happening, i wanted to make sure that i put time in to come before you for a brief moment. And to share my appreciation to the police force. To commissioners, the president mazzucco, and to the entire commission, to chief suhr and the entire command staff. To the awardees tonight. I know there is 41 of you out there with family and friends. But i want to say this to the entire 2,000 sworn men and women in San Francisco police force. I am very proud of you. As hard as i work, i know there are people that work even harder than i, and i dont necessarily put my life on the line every single day i go out there. But for a worldclass city to have this status is one of the best cities to ever live in. To work in and to visit. You got to have a police force that rises to worldclass standards. And the San Francisco Police Department is in fact worldclass standard. Tonight with the recognition of the medals of valor, we continue, i think, a very important culture. A
With her and the issues and homeless and wanted to end her life as others looked on at the christa hotel. Throughout the conversation the woman told the officer that she didnt want to live anymore. And he kept holding on to her as officer dags and Sergeant Ryan step on the fire escape and assisted Sergeant Mcmahon to bring the woman into the building and down to the paramedics waiting below. This is actions saved this womans life. She would have perished on the sidewalk below. Officer mcmahon single handedly saved a life
Hearing tonight absent pastor gavin. This matter has been pending for quite some time. I am disappointed that pastor gavin is not able to attend our hearing based on her complaint. Commissioners, any discussion . Commissioner hur, you said that we should continue and give her a chance to present her case before us. Well, i am not sure that i was on the side of continuing it then. But the commission did continue the matter, and i think gave sufficient notice to pastor gavin and so i am comfortable Going Forward today. And i notice in the letter that we received from pastor gavin, there is no request for a specific time, it is essentially to say, to continue it until further notice. And a medical release from her physician. And as i think that i commented at the time when we did agree to continue it is that the defendants have some rights here as well as the complainant. And i think that to keep this matter open indefinitely, just is unfair to them. Sosposed to not to determine the matte
Second. All in favor . Public comment in ray hartz that i would like to say that in the five years coming to the hearing this is the only time that i have ever heard anybody come back and vote to disclose anything, from closed session. And now, i find that really, really, and i find that really misty fying. Opposed . It passes 50. And on the agenda, the discussion of the minutes, of the last meeting. Any comments from the commissioners . Public comment . Commissioners ray hartz, director of San Francisco, open government, and i wholeheartedly support the approval of these minutes and it documents the efforts of both the commissioners and the commissioners to openly and honestly discuss my case before this commission. And i would like to point out on page 6 of the document where the commissioner keane expressed that the library was discriminate and went on in the last sentences is important, mr. Herrra, stated that the members of the public are not prohibited to make the Public Comment,
Force that they cant name mr. Ginsburg, are you . I dont, i mean, the. And as i understand it. The problem that you are having with their naming mr. Ginsburg is that he was not initially named when this alleged violation arose. And that after, second hearing, they suddenly came out, and named him and so the whole question comes did mr. Ginsburg get a proper notification, so that he could go to the task force and say, hey, you should not name me and here is why you should not name me . Is that . No, i think that the question, and i mean, the staff raised the question before that it would be a violation of mr. Ginsburg procedural. And i understand that, and i dont think that is right, and i think that tonight you can certainly, if you feel that mr. Ginsburg nonwillfully, and engaged in a nonwillful violation of the sunshine ordinance, i dont think that you are precluded by the due process and if you think that mr. Ginsburg did not violation the sunshine ordinance at all but that someone
