Nine power projects worth Rs140b to be launched under GB package
Under the historic GB package announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan today, nine power projects each having capacity of producing 250 MW electricity will be launched for the power system at a cost of 140 billion rupees.
Among these projects are hydel and clean energy projects while the local distribution system will also be expanded and improved.
The package also includes five road projects to be completed at a cost of 35 billion rupees.
For tourism sector, various projects including infrastructure and capacity building will be launched at a cost of six billion rupees. Besides, 17 billion rupees will be spent on health and education while five thousand young people will be given scholarships and skills.
