Amid a statewide chain's opening of a new location in a hangar at the former naval air station, the increasingly popular sport is no longer just for seniors.

The Lehigh County Board of Commissioners unanimously passed three bills during its meeting Wednesday night.

A new state-of-the-art pickleball facility, The Hub, features 26 brand-new fenced-in courts. The Hub is a members-based club in Spring Valley but is also open to the public for day play.

On its second attempt, Allentown City Council adopted a resolution Wednesday recommending the county administration, district attorney’s office and courts system limit future incarcerations and to release as many non-violent offenders as possible to house arrest. The resolution also suggests the county should ensure jail staff, inmates and visitors have clean personal protective equipment.
