FULTON, Mo. --In addition to the previously announced additions of football, flag football and competitive dance, William Woods University will add mens lacrosse for the 2024-25 school year, with KCAC Coach of the Year Seth Matlock joining the Owls as the teams head coach. The team seeks affiliate membership in the Heart of America Athletic Conference for the spring 2025 season.

KANSAS CITY--Owls President Dr. Jeremy Moreland announced Friday that William Woods University (WWU) has accepted an invitation to become a full member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart), beginning with the 2025-26 academic year.

FULTON -- With the planned debut of football and flag football during the 2024-25 academic year, William Woods University has partnered with Mammoth to renovate Firley Soccer Field, installing artificial turf in the venue to support mens and womens soccer alongside football in the fall and flag football in the spring.

William Woods University will work with Christie Campus Health to provide continuous mental health support for students.

The job, common in the corporate world, has been added at a handful of colleges, and reflects the increasing influence of business practices in higher ed.

Dr. Otto joins the WWU administration with more than 10 years of higher education admissions and enrollment experience in both the traditional and non-traditional settings, working with residential, graduate, online, and non-traditional students throughout his career in college admissions and enrollment management.
