Customers were saddened to hear of the Sunday's pending closure of Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana, long a favorite upscale eatery in the heart of Old Pasadena. The decision impacts 70 workers, some who lamented the lack of management's transparency.

After 10 years in its Market Street location, Il Fornaio will shut down at close of business Friday.
