"We continue to see good business traction, both for our wireless as well as our wireline business. On the wireless segment, we continued to ramp up our BSNL 4G RAN shipments, and several thousand systems have been shipped which are a combination of single and dual-band radios in Band 1 and Band 28," said Arnob Roy, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Whole-Time Director, Tejas Network, at the companys Q3 FY24 post-earnings call.

For the BSNL 4G network, the Bengaluru-headquartered firm has also started supplying the backhaul equipment of IP/MPLS routers. “This is a project in several hundred of crores for deploying more than 15,000 routers. This will enable the backhaul network of the BSNL 4G nationwide network,” the COO said.

State-run BSNL is likely to award a Rs 1,000-crore order to Nokia for optical transport network (OTN) equipment and deployment via a local system integrator. Financial bids have been opened, and the advance purchase order is expected to be issued to the successful bidder soon. The contract, part of BSNLs Phase-4 project, involves supplying, installing, and commissioning OTN on a pan-India scale.
