With the purpose of raising money for families who have a cancer diagnosis of a loved one and a desire to spend time with that person to make memories, the family of Crystal Evenson-Briscoe will hold a "Crystals Crusade" fundraiser this Saturday, June 4 in Carson City.

For nearly three and a half decades Curtis Horton made Carson City Public Works his life’s purpose. Over the course of these 35 years Horton witnessed Public Works drastically transform, grow, improve, and services expanded.

The countdown continues, and the day of days — the 85th Nevada Day Parade — will be this very Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 in Carson City. Take a look at all of the events happening throughout the weekend.

It’s that time again. The Battle Born state celebrates its admission to the United States on the last Friday of October, with the annual Nevada Day parade on Saturday. New this year is a ‘Passport to Downtown’ event on Friday.

Happy New Year! From the 50th Reunion Carson High Class of 1971. We all have class reunions, and my 50th was this year. When you are younger, it is more of a competition rally of who is who and what you have accomplished. For some this can leave a bad taste, and many may not return to their next one.

Muscle Powered, a Carson City non-profit that works to promote safer walking and biking conditions, is holding a Walk and Ride of Silence tonight, Wednesday May 16, to honor pedestrians and cyclists who have been injured or killed while traveling on public roadways.

Kids won’t want to miss the Santa Train at the State Railroad Museum or one of the two performances of ‘The Peanutcracker’ at the Community Center.

Visitors to the downtown Carson City business district are reminded that the downtown Curry Street corridor, including side streets, is open to vehicle traffic despite continued construction activities between Musser and Robinson streets, said City Engineer Dan Stuckey with Carson City Public Works.
