Delhi s Indira Gandhi International Airport is the 17th busiest in the world and it is now gearing up for a major expansion.
The expansion plans for Delhi s lone passenger airport include a new terminal, an additional runway, state-of-the-art facilities and an enhanced passenger handling capacity, reported HT.
On completion of the expansion project, Delhi airport will be the country s first airport with four runway and the airport s passenger handling capacity will also increase from 20 million passengers a year to 40 million.

MUMBAI: Mumbai airport s Terminal 1 in Vile Parle will reopen on March 10 after remaining closed for almost a year. T1 was shut in the last week of March last year when the lockdown began.
It will open in the early hours of Wednesday to passengers of five airlines, booked on over 100 arrival and departure flights connecting 27 destinations in the country.
However, only passengers booked on IndiGo domestic flights will have check their departure/arrival terminal as its flights will operate from both terminals. Those booked on Go Air, Star Air, Air Asia and Trujet will board from or arrive at T1. Vistara and SpiceJet will operate from T2 as usual.

MUMBAI: For safeguarding the health and safety of all passengers travelling via the airport, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is re-opening its Terminal 1 (T1) for domestic flight operations with effect from March 10, its officials said recently.
Since the advent of the nationwide lockdown in March 2020, operations at T1 were suspended temporarily and were consolidated through Terminal 2 for the convenience of the passengers and stakeholders. Upholding the safety of the passengers, the resumption of services via T1 is a step further in ensuring that social distancing is strictly followed.
“From midnight, March 10, Go Air, Star Air, Air Asia and Trujet will resume all its domestic operations from Terminal 1. In case of Indigo, while most of its flight operations will be managed from Terminal 2, the base flights will operate through Terminal 1. All passengers travelling through
