Padre Island National Seashore is offering the public free virtual training sessions on how to properly find, recover, and document cold-stunned sea turtles.

A large loggerhead sea turtle was found stranded on a Texas beach over the weekend, a once rare sight that is becoming increasingly common.

259 cold-stunned sea turtles washed up on the beaches of Laguna Madre over the past few days, an ecological crisis which experts attribute to recent cold weather.
