Thane: The Thane Municipal Corporation on Monday threw open an underpass under the Eastern Express Highway at Kopri, enabling improved connectivity between eastern part of Thane city to , ending a wait of nearly five years for Thane citizens | Mumbai news

According to officials, the main water channel will be repaired and valves will be replaced at Saket Bridge during the 24-hour shutdown.

Once ready, the infra will cut down travel time from half-an-hour to approx. seven minutes 

The Thane railway station is set for a major overhaul with TMC commissioner Abhijit Bangar personally overseeing the developments.

TMC took action on 25 shops in Kopri, Uthalsar and Kopat area in Thane.

He instructed officials to hold a separate meeting on the issue of a new station between Mulund and Thane.
