Palghar, Thane, and Mumbai districts in Maharashtra are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre. The districts have been put under a yellow alert for November 25 and 26.

Heavy rain hit several parts of Maharashtra today, including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts.

Incessant heavy rain lashed Mumbai today, slowing down road traffic but services of suburban trains remained normal with slight delays.

"Badlapur-Ambarnath section (UP + DOWN) closed from 11.05 hrs for traffic due to water-logging," Central Railways chief public relations officer Dr Shivraj Manaspure said.
