Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law a measure that requires lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of executive orders or state laws to be filed in either Cook or Sangamon county.

The Illinois Senate was poised for a vote late Thursday on a $50.6 billion state spending plan that was an altered version of what Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the state legislature’s Democratic leaders presented as a done deal a day earlier.

The measure, which supporters say puts a stop to "venue shopping," is headed to Gov. Pritzker to sign.

House Bill 3062 passed 37-16 on Friday and now heads back to the House on concurrence.
