'Rust' assistant director David Halls has agreed to testify in criminal cases brought by the prosecution. "Maybe his testimony will be more helpful to Mr. Baldwin," Halls' attorney said.

Safety officials had tried to interview Rust assistant director David Halls twice, but he declined, citing concerns that the criminal investigation had not been completed.

A crew member has detailed the moment when cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was hit with a live round from a gun actor Alec Baldwin was holding during a new interview.

"Rust" special effects coordinator Thomas Gandy revealed Halyna Hutchins was about 18 inches away from the muzzle of the revolver that fired. He confirmed Alec Baldwin and the cinematographer had been working on an insert where the actor would point the gun directly at the camera.

The picture was shown on Good Morning America on Friday as the special effects coordinator from the film and another of the actors told of the harrowing moments Halyna was shot.
