An ex-teammate of controversial transgender swimmer Lia Thomas has attacked UPenn for “shutting down” any criticism about the athlete joining the women's team in 2020 – and alleged that the school “effectively silenced” them.

Incumbent Patricia Dorsey defeated James Miller for the final seat on the Carroll County Board of Education, according the final county vote tallies that were certified Friday.

Incumbent Tara Battaglia and slate-mate Steve Whisler are poised to win the other two seats on the Board of Education.

With early voting and Election Day totals counted in Carroll County, the BMW slate of candidates in the Board of Education race had the three highest vote totals, making Tara Battaglia, James Miller and Steve Whisler the front-runners to fill the three open seats on the board.
