Connection between politics and the economy is that presidents get both too much blame and too much credit for whats going on in the economy. i think that barack obama benefited from the economy in 2008 and i think we can make a strong argument that had you not had the financial meltdown, he might not be president today. so it cuts both ways. but it is a dreadful situation particularly because there is no obvious quick fix. and to me the structural point around jobs is the biggest long term dile...
