According to reports, the Labour Welfare Department, through a notification on May 26 has cancelled its earlier notification of February 23, which had enhanced the daily wage of tea garden workers in Assam by an amount of Rs. 50.

She is a resident of the Cantt area in Varanasi. Earlier, before the delivery, the mother had tested negative. The mother and baby were admitted to the SSL Hospital in Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The doctors at the SSL Hospital had run the Covid tests on the pregnant woman before she delivered the baby and the test results were negative. However, the newborn girl has tested positive right after her birth.
