When Gentry Farms’ homebred
Kiss Thru Fire won the $100,000 Charger Bar Handicap (G1) for fillies and mares, she did more than win the first Grade 1 race of 2021. She continued a long line of Gentry-bred and -owned horses that started with the Gentry-bred and -owned Easy Kiss, Kiss Thru Fire’s fourth dam and a foal of 1975.
The Gentry Brothers – Bob and Bruce – developed their breeding program by taking their prime race mares and crossing them on leading sires. Kiss Thru Fire is by Walk Thru Fire, first dam Fredaville is by Mr Jess Perry, second dam Fearless Freda is by Dash For Cash, third dam Such An Easy Effort is by Special Effort and fourth dam Easy Kiss is by Easy Jet. Easy Kiss was purchased by the Gentry Brothers.
