The city of Portage will see two new county supervisors, a new county judge, and a new Common Council member after Tuesdays election, while its School Board members and other

Portage voters will take a step toward choosing the next Columbia County supervisor for District 6, which covers Wards 6 and 9 in Portage, on Feb. 20.

It will be the candidates first joint appearance, in advance of the Sept. 5 primary election.

There was widespread community uncertainty as Park City entered 2021 with the novel coronavirus pandemic continuing to be the overriding issue. The sickness influenced much of the discussion in Park City during the year, as the local economy mounted an extraordinary comeback. But other topics also made the year stand out.

Sweeping problems under the rug

Outgoing Park City Mayor Andy Beerman on Thursday delivered short remarks during the last scheduled Park City Council meeting of his administration, praising municipal workers and saying it was an honor to work with the various members of the City Council during his four years leading the community.

Park City Councilor Tim Henney was seeking a third term in office on Tuesday, but voters opted to give two candidates first terms instead. Henney on Wednesday said there are “no sour grapes” about the unsuccessful bid to keep a City Council seat for another four years.
