On nuclear watch, workers at the damaged Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant prepare for a mammoth job, stopping the buildup and leakage of radioactive water. A man who once belonged to the cult that released cesarean gas on trains in tokyo nearly two decades ago has gone on trial. Former fugitive is accused of crimes that include the abduction of a man who was trying to free his sister from the ohm shin difficult cult. He was on the run for nearly 17 years. He turned himself in to police two years ago. Hes charged with abducting and confining a notary in 1995. Prosecutors say he later gave the notary a lethal injection. Hirata denied the charges on day one of the trial and said he only acted as a lookout and didnt intend the kidnap the man. His defense team says hes only guilty of helping the culprits. James Benjamin Trembath

James Benjamin Trembath 1925 - 2020

James Benjamin Trembath, son of William and Ethel Trembath, was born October 1, 1925, in Eveleth, MN.  He peacefully passed away at age 95 on January 7, 2021, at Autumn Lane Assisted-Living in Cohasset, MN.  Jim grew up in Eveleth, graduating in 1943.  At age 17 he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving as a Pharmacist’s Mate (corpsman) during WWII.  Assigned to the 3rd Marine Division for the battle of Iwo Jima in 1945, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.  He was within a half mile of Mount Suribachi during the famous Marine American flag raising.  Jim brought home his helmet with a bullet hole and was known in his unit as “Hole in the Helmet Trembath.”
