Investigators reportedly believe postpartum depression played a role in the shocking death of New York City cancer doctor Krystal Cascetta, who she shot and killed her 4-month-old daughter before fatally turning the gun on herself.

Dr. Krystal Cascetta, an oncologist in New York, shot her 4-month-old daughter before turning the gun on herself in an apparent murder-suicide, police said.

The husband of oncologist Krystal Cascetta, who allegedly shot her infant daughter to death before killing herself, played no role in the tragedy, according to police.

Officer Steven Nevel, who has been discussing the case with the media, laid the rumors to rest that heartbroken husband and father Tim Talty had any involvement in the deaths of wife Dr. Krystal Cascetta, 40, and their 4-month-old daughter.
